FAQs
Where are the studio classes held?
They are based in The Pavilion at Chislehurst Rec (BR7 5DF) which is accessed from Walden Road or Empress Drive and
The Old Chapel, accessed from The Queens Passage (next to cafe nero) off Chislehurst High Street.
Do I need previous Pilates experience?
No previous experience is needed as all our classes are mixed ability and suitable for wherever you are on your Pilates journey.

I'm injured/recovering from and injury, can I still attend?
You are welcome to join our classes providing you have been signed off by your health care provider to do so (for more serious injuries). We ask you always notify the teacher of any injuries/restrictions you have at the beginning of class so you can best be advised and get the most out of the class without aggravating the issue further. Many attendee's are working with injuries and our instructors are well equipped to modify and alter exercises for you if necessary.

How do I book a class?
Bookings can be made via our website: www.meshmovement.co.uk/classes. The website link can also be found in our bio on Instagram.
Do I need any equipment?
The only equipment needed to begin is a yoga mat. The teacher will always have spare equipment if it is required in the class. However we encourage our attendees to have their own small equipment such as resistance bands, small ball & roller as this allows Pilates to be done anywhere - at home or even on holiday!
Do I need a roller?
Even though we have a 'Roller Week’ you do not have to have a roller to take part. The roller exercises can be done on the mat without a roller or the teacher will have a spare in the class if you wish to use it.
I'm pregnant, can I attend the class?
Yes, you can attend the class as long as you are not classes as high risk or have any complications. You must make sure the teacher is aware you are pregnant and how far along you are so exercises can be modified or changed where necessary. Pilates is a great form of exercise to support you through your pregnancy.

I've recently had a baby, can I attend the classes?
It is recommended to wait till at least after 6 weeks postpartum before you return to a group-based Pilates class. Check with your GP and Pelvic health Physiotherapist if you have any concerns about your wound, healing or recovery. Once your doctor gives you clearance to begin movement, Pilates can help accelerate the healing process, boosting blood flow and oxygenation to help repair damaged muscles like the transverse abdominis (your deepest abdominals that form a “corset” around your torso) and your obliques.

I want to order some small equipment, where do I get it from?
Most items you can purchase on our website here. If we don’t sell it then you can view our recommended equipment list here. For Sissel rollers please contact Emily directly to order at contact@meshcollective.co.uk. More equipment will be coming to the website soon - watch this space!
Do I have to book a block of classes?
No, you can book a one off class on the website. If you plan to have Pilates as a weekly practice then purchasing one of our plans or becoming a member is more cost effective. To find out more, head here.
Do the studio classes allow for 'walk ins'?
We ask that you book the classes online beforehand as our studio classes have a 7 person limit. This ensures everyone has plenty of room and gets personal attention and corrections if needed.
How do I know what class is right for me?
All our classes are suitable for all levels but if you have any queries around this please email Emily at contact@meshcollective.co.uk who will assist you further.
